How it works

Lessons over video

We meet on a video call with screen share, so you work in your own setup the whole time. You'll get notes after each lesson so you can keep practicing.

Adam's toolkit

The plugins and hardware we'll use

The basics run on Ableton's own devices, so you can start with what you have. Here's what else is in Adam's setup, in the box and out.

Ableton stock devices

Simpler, Drum Rack, EQ Eight, Glue Compressor, Echo. Everything you need to start.

FabFilter suite

Pro Q for clean EQ, Pro C and Pro L for the mixdown.

Cableguys ShaperBox

Volume, filter and time shaping. Instant movement and sidechain.

Soundtoys Effect Rack

Decapitator, EchoBoy and friends for character and space.

Reason Rack Plugin

Classic synths and drum machines inside your DAW.

Omnisphere

Deep pads, keys and textures for sound design.

Hardware

Roland TR-8

Hands on drum programming and jamming grooves.

Access Virus TI

Big basses, leads and classic club synth sounds.

Korg MS2000B

Analog modeling synth for gritty basslines and stabs.

Yamaha DX200

FM grooves and sequences for weird, fun sound design.

No hardware needed for the course. If you have gear, we'll work it into your sessions.
